The broken pipe might be the worst problem than it appears. Obvious signs like stains on the walls and ceilings might be just a part of the real damage. Water can penetrate the structure of the ceiling, degrading the integrity of the ceiling material. In this case, old and damaged parts of the ceiling were replaced. New framing and plasterboards were installed. The whole ceiling was plastered and painted.
